LAGOS TO STOP EMPLOYING TEACHERS.

TRCN Certificate, according to the Commissioner
for Education. The Lagos State Commissioner
for Education, Mrs Olayinka Oladunjoye, said
yesterday that teachers without the Teachers
Registration Council of Nigeria, TRCN, Certificate
would no longer be employed in the state.
Oladunjoye made the statement during the first
induction ceremony of the council for graduates
of National Teachers Institute’s, NTI, National
Certificate of Education, NCE, programme and
Post Graduate Diploma in Education, PGDE,
graduates of the institute for the 2010-2012
session.
250 NCE and 600 PGDE students who graduated
from NTI were inducted by the council during
the ceremony.
The commissioner was represented by Mr. Banji
Alase, Policy Officer from the state Ministry of
Education at the occasion.
“There will be no more employment for teachers
without the TRCN certificate and those in service
without the certificate will no longer be
promoted.”
She, however, pleaded with the body to
dispatch the 4,000 certificates in its custody to
their respective owners.
